Building Safety Manager
Our client, a leading social housing provider, is looking to appoint an experienced Building Safety Manager to join their growing team.
This is a key role focused on ensuring the safety, compliance, and effective management of high-risk residential buildings. You will take the lead on building safety casework, Golden Thread information, regulatory compliance, resident engagement, and liaison with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on Building Safety Cases and associated reporting for high-risk residential buildings
- Maintain accurate and compliant Golden Thread information
- Support BIM data management and building safety records
- Manage building registrations with the Building Safety Regulator
- Oversee compliance with fire safety legislation, Fire Management Plans, and related statutory duties
- Review Fire Risk Assessments and coordinate mitigation actions, including PEEPs/rPEEPs where required
- Monitor remedial works and ensure statutory and safety compliance is maintained
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and Mandatory Occurrence Reporting
- Deliver resident engagement activity and support a compliant Resident Engagement Strategy
- Build strong working relationships with regulators, building control, emergency services, contractors, and internal teams
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, escalating risks where necessary
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Building Safety, Fire Safety, or compliance role within social housing, residential, or another high-risk environment
- Strong experience across high-rise / higher-risk residential buildings
- A strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act is essential
- Strong understanding of the Fire Safety Act, fire risk management, and wider building safety compliance
- Experience producing and managing Building Safety Cases and Golden Thread information
- Strong stakeholder management, reporting, and documentation skills
- Experience driving compliance improvements and embedding robust processes
Desirable
- Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management or similar
- NEBOSH Fire Safety or equivalent
- Professional membership such as IFE
- Social housing experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
