Interim HR Business Partner (Education)

A large and growing multi-academy organisation is seeking an experienced Interim HR Business Partner to provide operational HR leadership across a cluster of schools during a period of senior absence.
This is a visible, hands-on role requiring a confident and experienced HR professional who can step into a complex environment and add value immediately.
The role
You will take ownership of a group of approximately 10 schools across Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, providing oversight, leadership and support to school-based HR teams.
This is a high-demand patch with a number of newly appointed HR staff, requiring strong guidance, structure and hands-on support.
Key responsibilities
- Lead HR service delivery across a defined group of schools
- Support and oversee school-based HR teams
- Manage complex employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, safeguarding, dismissals and settlement agreements
- Build effective relationships with Headteachers and senior leadership teams
- Provide visible, on-site HR support across schools
- Stabilise and improve HR capability across the patch
About you
- HR Business Partner or senior HR Manager level experience
- Strong experience within the education sector is essential
- Experience supporting schools or multi-academy trusts
- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations casework end-to-end
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
Desirable
- Experience within organisations such as MAT central teams, education HR providers or large school environments
Working pattern
- Full time preferred
- Regular travel across Bedfordshire and surrounding areas required
- This is not a remote role
