Senior Cost Manager | Infrastructure Consultancy | Permanent | Up to £59,000 (doe)
An opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager to make a real impact on major UK infrastructure programmes has arisen. You’ll lead commercial delivery from early-stage planning through to completion, working with key clients and delivery partners. You will be working across water, avaitaion, defence, highways and nuclear.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to work in a new team, which is in it’s infancy – there is a huge amount of opportunity for someone to scope the role and shape your progression.
What you’ll do
- Lead commercial delivery across complex programmes and projects
- Own commercial performance, managing risk and opportunity
- Produce and manage cost plans, estimates and benchmarks
- Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts (pre- and post-contract)
- Drive cost assurance and governance; ensure compliance with client requirements
- Deliver clear reporting (KPIs, EVM, outturn cost analysis) and insight for decision-making
- Support bids/frameworks and contribute to business development
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Mentor and develop junior Cost Managers toward professional qualification
What you’ll need
- Strong infrastructure cost management experience, especially within Water (essential)
- Track record across major projects and programmes
- Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management / Construction Management (or similar)
- RICS Associate (or working toward chartership)
- Solid NEC3/NEC4 contract administration experience
- Experience with cost tools (e.g., CostX, CEMAR)
- Knowledge of the Construction Playbook, Value Toolkit, Project 13, and public procurement
- Collaborative, proactive, solutions-focused approach
This is a permanent role with hybrid working – 3 days per week onsite, 2 days WFH. Locations – Bristol, Reading, Birmingham or London.
