£55-60 per hour umbrella
Full-time
Panoramic Associates are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in the Northern Home Counties who are looking for a Locum Education Solicitor to join their team on an initial 6 month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
The successful candidate will be able to work fully remotely, although there is a preference for occasional office attendance (approximately once a month) where possible. The client would be open to flexibility around this for the right candidate, and the role is accessible for candidates based across the Midlands and London.
The role will involve providing specialist legal advice on Education Law matters, with a particular focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEND Tribunal work. You will manage a complex caseload, providing advice to client organisations, preparing legal documentation, representing clients at hearings and ensuring compliance with statutory education duties.
You will work closely with education professionals and stakeholders, providing practical advice, identifying risks and supporting the effective resolution of complex cases.
Essential criteria:
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with litigation rights.
- Recent experience of working within a Local Authority or public sector setting advising on Education Law matters.
- Strong experience handling SEN and SEND Tribunal cases.
- Experience conducting advocacy at hearings and managing cases independently.
- Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to a range of stakeholders.
