Interim Headteacher – Independent Special School (West Midlands)
Start: January 2026 | Interviews: ASAP | Day Rate: Negotiable

An established independent special school is seeking an experienced Interim Headteacher to provide strong, consistent leadership from January onwards.

The school supports children and young people with a range of complex needs and is looking for a dynamic, student-centred leader who can guide the staff team, maintain high standards, and drive continued improvement during a period of transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across the school

  • Ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and safeguarding practice

  • Support and develop the senior leadership team and wider staff

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and external partners

  • Continue the school’s commitment to positive outcomes for pupils

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven senior leadership experience within a special school or similar specialist setting

  • Strong understanding of SEND provision and regulatory requirements

  • A stabilising, collaborative leadership style

  • The ability to quickly build trust and lead with confidence
