Senior HR & Systems Officer

Overview
A Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a proactive Senior HR & Systems Officer to deliver a high-quality, efficient and data-driven HR service supporting central/executive teams. You’ll take ownership of HR data integrity and HR systems, provide insightful reporting, and ensure HR activity is compliant with statutory requirements and safeguarding expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end HR administration across the employee lifecycle for central/executive teams.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection activity in line with safer recruitment guidance.
- Maintain and audit the Single Central Record (SCR) to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
- Maintain accurate personnel records with strong data integrity and consistency.
- Support HR casework administration: documentation, tracking, reporting, and escalation of trends/risks.
- Act as HRIS “super user”: optimise system use, improve processes, and ensure high-quality data capture.
- Produce regular HR MI (e.g., headcount, absence, turnover, workforce trends, payroll inputs) and present insights to stakeholders.
- Work closely with finance/payroll colleagues to validate starters/leavers/contractual changes/absence data and resolve discrepancies.
- Support school-based HR leads with systems capability, data literacy and best practice.
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement activity.
About you (essentials)
- Solid HR administration experience and confidence using HR systems/portals.
- Experience analysing and presenting HR data/metrics.
- Strong IT skills (especially Excel/spreadsheets) and excellent attention to detail.
- Professional, discreet, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent).
- CIPD Level 5 (or commitment to work towards).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Desirable
- HR experience within education/schools.
- Degree-level qualification and/or Chartered CIPD membership
- SAM People and HRIS experience
