We are working with a reputable Multi Academy Trust (MAT) committed to providing high-quality education and support services to their network of schools across London. As part of their continued growth and dedication to financial excellence, we are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview: As a Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic insights to aid decision-making processes. You will work closely with senior leadership, budget holders, and external stakeholders to maintain robust financial controls and drive financial performance across the academies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Support budget setting, forecasting, and monitoring processes across the MAT.
- Assist in the production of statutory accounts and liaise with auditors during the annual audit process.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to aid strategic decision-making.
- Maintain financial systems and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Work collaboratively with budget holders to monitor expenditure, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate financial risks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant experience in management accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience of working within the education sector or a Multi Academy Trust.
- Proficiency in using financial management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Highly organized with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Commitment to upholding financial regulations and promoting financial best practice.
