Interim Maths Improvement Lead
South West England | ASAP Start | Up to Summer Term 2027
A secondary school in the South West is looking for an experienced Maths leader to provide stability, leadership, and departmental improvement.
Working alongside the trust’s Maths Lead, this role will focus on embedding effective leadership, improving teaching and learning, and ensuring improvement initiatives are successfully implemented across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for the maths department
- Bring the team together around a clear improvement strategy
- Embed the trust’s vision for high-quality teaching and learning in maths
- Develop staff through coaching and mentoring
- Monitor and sustain school improvement initiatives
- Support wider school improvement priorities where appropriate
About You
- Previous experience leading a maths department
- Strong understanding of teaching, learning, and curriculum improvement
- Able to build credibility quickly and influence others effectively
- School improvement experience advantageous but not essential
- Suitable for experienced Heads of Maths, Assistant Headteachers, or senior leaders with a maths specialism
Contract Details
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Until Summer Term 2027
- Commitment: Up to 5 days per week, with some flexibility available for the right candidate
