Interim Planning Enforcement Officer
London Based
£32-£35 per hour (Via an Umbrella Company)
Full time – 1-2 days in office/on site per week
3 months rolling contract.
Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client based in London to facilitate the appointment of a Planning Enforcement to join the council’s planning department.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Investigating complaints and reports of potential planning violations, such as unauthorised developments, breaches of planning conditions, and unpermitted land use activities.
- Conducting site visits and inspections to assess the nature and extent of alleged violations, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.
- Liaising with property owners, developers, stakeholders, and members of the public to address concerns, provide information on planning regulations, and facilitate resolution of enforcement issues.
- Issuing enforcement notices, stop notices, breach of condition notices, and other enforcement actions in accordance with relevant legislation and council policies.
- Monitoring compliance with enforcement notices and taking appropriate follow-up actions.
- Maintaining accurate records, case files, and documentation related to enforcement activities.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Experience working within a Local Authority setting.
- Previous experience in planning enforcement, development control, or a similar regulatory role.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationship.
Next Steps
This role is an initial 3-month contract with extension and offering up to £32-£35 per hour paid via an Umbrella Company Dependent on experience. Office or sire visits are 1-2 days per week, with the remainder remote.
