Panoramic Associates are working in partnership with a Local Authority based in West Sussex to facilitate an Energy Development Officer on an Interim basis.
Role Title: Interim Energy Development Officer
Location: West Sussex
Day Rate: £350 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 6 Months (Likely Extension)
Working Model: Hybrid
They will guide renewable energy projects through RIBA stages 0 – 4 (pre-construction) before transferring the responsibility to another individual to oversee the Construction phase and subsequent stages.
Numerous aspects mentioned below require close collaboration with specialists in various fields such as energy markets, construction management, project controls, legal, and procurement.
- Ability to grow and develop our energy portfolio and pipeline byfostering and developing relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Demonstrable understanding of renewable energy technologies and the modelling of projects for business case development.
- Knowledge of financial, budget and risk management is also important.
- Knowledge of Local Government and its responsibilities for sustainability, energy, economy or business studies.
- Develop the initial idea or list of possible interventions for a building or site
- Take this knowledge to a technical feasibility to test assumptions and develop a deeper understanding of the specific options, their benefits, risk profiles and ‘deliverability’
- Navigate our governance procedures to decide whether the organisation is willing to manage the risks and invest the Capital to deliver these benefits
- All the while, keeping stakeholders engaged and informed, measuring and managing risks & financial sensitivities, identifying constraints and dependencies as well as possible routes to delivery.
We need for the chosen candidate to understand risk and how it is managed in the early stages of a new project:
- Applying sufficient early stage feasibility funding to develop detailed concepts of projects
- Considering planning permission and cost/complexity of meeting conditions
- Cost and timelines of connecting to the electricity grid
- Understanding and selling the service to a customer or 3rd party
