Housing Renewal Officer
East Midlands/Flexible hybrid working
£200 per day inside IR35 DOE
3 Month Contract (+extension/perm)
Panoramic Associates are working with a client in the East Midlands in the search for a Housing Renewal Officer to join their team on an interim basis for a minimum of 3 months, with a likely extension or potential permanent opportunities. As a Housing Renewal Officer, the ideal candidate will drive housing standards improvement and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Your role will involve responding to housing condition requests, conducting property inspections, and promoting energy efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Respond to housing condition service requests in private and social rental sectors.
- Provide housing condition advice to landlords, tenants, and property owners.
- Conduct property inspections, identify defects, and recommend remedial actions.
- Serve legal notices and prepare documentation for legal proceedings when necessary.
- Assist in delivering disabled facilities grant programs and minimise neighbourhood impact of empty properties.
- Raise awareness on affordable warmth and home energy conservation.
- Liaise with partners to maximise funding opportunities for energy-saving measures.
- Research and compile data for reporting compliance with Home Energy Conservation Act.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and contribute to policy development.
- Represent the Council in collaborative efforts to improve energy efficiency and tackle fuel poverty.
Requirements
- Experience in housing inspections and identifying defects (Essential)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in private sector housing (Essential)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)
- Full UK driving license (Desirable)
- Ability to work outside normal hours when required (Desirable)
