WORKING FOR US
Our council is full of people who have chosen to work in local government because they want to help others and make a difference to their lives or the environment in which local people live.
It’s not difficult to understand why Norwich consistently ranks among the best places to live in the UK.
England’s first UNESCO City of Literature manages to strike a happy balance between celebrating its rich heritage while creating a modern and vibrant place to live, work and study.
The city is home to no fewer than 1,500 historic buildings, a 900-year-old cathedral, a castle and cutting edge architecture such as Goldsmith Street, the first social housing scheme to win the prestigious Stirling Prize.
This year’s Sunday Times Best Places to Live index described Norwich as ‘a fashionable city with a growing sense of cool and a reputation for architecture, style and innovation’. It has been listed as one of the most hipster cities around and crowned the UK’s most vegetarian and vegan-friendly city.
The council has a long and proud history of being a council that is keen to push the boundaries of what a district can achieve.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The new manager will continue the good work undertaken so far to ensure that the Council continues to deliver high quality parking enforcement services, as well as operating our own multi-storey and surface car parks to a high standard of customer care.
They will be mindful of the financial and environmental challenges that councils face, and will support us to develop highly effective services that will help us meet these challenges.
