ABOUT THE ROLE
As Principal Private Sector Housing Officer – Enforcement, you will play a key leadership role within Luton’s Private Sector Housing Enforcement team, providing high-level technical expertise across complex and high-profile cases. You’ll lead investigations into breaches of housing legislation, oversee enforcement activity, and support legal proceedings, while also supervising and mentoring a team of officers.
Working closely with the Private Sector Housing Manager, you’ll help drive service improvements, lead projects, and ensure compliance standards are consistently met across the borough. This is a hands-on role that combines operational leadership with specialist knowledge, requiring sound judgement, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.
