Job Title: Early Years Leader
Pay rate: £250 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 13th April – End of Academic Year
Type: On-site full-time | 4 days teaching + 1 day leadership time
Location: West Midlands area

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Early Years specialist to take on an interim leadership role across Nursery and Reception. This position combines classroom teaching with strategic leadership, focusing on improving EYFS outcomes, enhancing provision, and mentoring staff within the phase.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Early Years provision across Reception and Nursery
- Deliver high-quality teaching within a Reception class (4 days per week)
- Drive improvements in EYFS outcomes, particularly Good Level of Development (GLD)
- Implement and model effective phonics teaching (e.g., Little Wandle)
- Develop and enhance continuous provision across EYFS
- Act as a role model and mentor to an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
- Coach and support staff to improve teaching and learning practices
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership (Deputy and Assistant Headteacher)
- Oversee and support provision across multiple classes within the phase
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong experience within Early Years (EYFS focus essential)
- Proven track record in delivering phonics programmes (e.g., Little Wandle)
- Experience in leading or supporting Early Years teams
- Strong classroom practice combined with leadership capability
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and coaching skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- NPQ in Early Years Leadership (or working towards)
- Previous experience as an EYFS Phase Leader or similar role
- Experience improving EYFS outcomes and provision at a strategic level.
