Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Primary School based in London to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Interim SENCO to support the school’s SEND provision on a part-time basis. This role will focus on ensuring high-quality support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to maintain effective provision across the school.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
- Work closely with teaching staff to support the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND.
- Develop and review EHCPs and SEN Support Plans, ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate effective support for pupils.
- Support and advise staff on inclusive teaching strategies and SEND best practice.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with SEND legislation and school policies.
- Support SEND provision within Early Years and across the wider primary setting.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- SENCo qualification desirable (or working towards it).
- Strong SEND knowledge and experience.
- Ideally primary experience, unless candidates can clearly demonstrate understanding across primary age groups.
- Enhanced DBS with adult and children’s barred list.
