Interim SENCo – South West England – September start
Panoramic Associates are supporting a school in the South West of England with their recruitment of an Interim SENCo to start at the end of August.
The current SENCo is stepping down, and the school is looking for an experienced professional who can hit the ground running. This is a non-teaching senior leadership role in a challenging environment with a high number of pupils with SEND.
Key Details:
- Full-time role starting at the end of August
- Contract is secure until Christmas, with strong potential to extend until Easter
- Competitive day rate
- School has approximately 45 EHCPs
- High proportion of SEND pupils
- Support expected for ECTs and less experienced teaching staff
- No teaching requirement
The school needs someone confident in navigating unclear or underdeveloped SEND systems. They’re seeking a calm, experienced SENCo who can offer immediate leadership and stability.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong experience stepping into interim SENCo or leadership roles
- Confidence managing SEND and safeguarding in challenging settings
- Familiarity with OFSTED frameworks and expectations
- A NASENCo qualification (or working towards)
- Proven ability to support teachers new to the profession
