Job Title: Programme Manager – Transport Transformation
Rate: £550 – £650 per day DoE (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Location: Midlands
Working Arrangement: Hybrid / Remote
Overview:
I am currently seeking a skilled Programme Manager to join my client’s team, focusing on transforming Home to School Transport operations. This role presents an excellent opportunity to drive efficiency gains and operational improvements within my client’s organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with operational staff, review contracts, analyse processes, and implement strategic initiatives to optimise home to school transport services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically analyse operations to identify areas for efficiency gains and cost savings.
- Collaborate with operational staff to gain insight into daily work flows and inform strategic decision-making.
- Review current contracts and negotiate terms where necessary to maximise value for the client.
- Assist with route optimisation efforts to enhance service delivery and reduce costs.
- Analyse current processes, compile reports, and conduct options appraisals for operational improvements.
- Take ownership of assigned objectives provided by the Senior Leadership Team, with the autonomy to influence and drive change effectively.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working in a local authority, particularly within home to school transport operations.
- Management experience in home school transport is preferred.
- Proven track record of realising savings and financial benefits through operational optimisation initiatives within a local authority.
- Expertise in compiling reports and presenting findings to senior leaders within a local authority to influence decision-making.
- Experience transforming a service utilising change management methodologies to ensure an effective transition.
