Interim Deputy Headteacher – Specialist Setting (ASD & SEMH) | London
A well-regarded specialist school in London is seeking an interim Deputy Headteacher to join its leadership team ASAP or in September. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader with a strong background in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Working in close partnership with the Headteacher, you’ll play a vital role in leading the school through the next phase of its development. The successful candidate will bring energy, clarity of vision, and the ability to support and inspire staff across the school.
Key Areas of Responsibility:

Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Headteacher to shape and implement the school’s development priorities.

Staff Development & Management: Lead and support staff across various levels, ensuring high standards of practice and well-being.

Curriculum Oversight: Drive the delivery of a broad and meaningful curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.

Pupil Progress & Welfare: Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child is supported to succeed.

School Improvement: Contribute to ongoing quality assurance and the embedding of effective teaching, learning and behaviour strategies.

About You:
You’ll be an experienced school leader with:

A successful track record in a senior leadership role, ideally within a SEND or alternative provision

Deep understanding of the challenges faced by neurodiverse learners and those with SEMH needs

Strong communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to collaboration and inclusion

The resilience, vision, and creativity to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting
