Interim Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour/ Pastoral)
Panoramic Associates is partnered with a welcoming and inclusive special school in the West Midlands, dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs. They are seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join their leadership team on an interim basis, ASAP until Easter.
As interim Assistant Headteacher you will lead on Behaviour and Pastoral interventions across a large school, while also maintaining hands-on support to staff and teachers. Though the school is SEN, the opportunity is open to anyone who has worked in a large school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior operational leadership across the main site (no teaching commitment)
- Maintain a high-profile presence around the school, supporting staff and pupils in real time
- Lead on behaviour and pastoral intervention, including de-escalation and post-incident debriefs
- Oversee and line-manage the Pastoral Team
- Support and develop the pastoral structure, with a view to growing and strengthening the team
- Intervene with high-profile behaviours and support staff during escalations
- Ensure consistent application of behaviour strategies and escalation protocols
This is a 5 day per week role, paid on a day rate and starting immediately and running until Easter. Interview will take place this week, w/c 12th January, so for more information please apply below and we will be in touch.
