Graduate Building Surveyor
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum + benefits
Working pattern: Hybrid (minimum 3 days on-site per week)
Eligibility: Must be based in or able to commute to Cambridgeshire

Our client, a leading consultancy within the built environment, is seeking a Graduate Building Surveyor to join their expanding Cambridge team. Your Opportunity
As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you will be exposed to a broad spectrum of professional and project-related services across sectors including residential, education, industrial, and commercial.
You will work closely with experienced surveyors and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to live projects from an early stage while developing the technical competencies required to progress towards Chartership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering a range of Building Surveying services, including:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
- Pre-acquisition building surveys
- Schedules of condition
- Dilapidations
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCAs)
- Support contract administration activities, including:
- Attending project meetings
- Preparing specifications and tender documentation
- Assisting with procurement processes
- Producing contract documentation
- Conducting site inspections
- Assist with building surveys, accurately recording and reporting site data
- Analyse and report on building defects and maintenance requirements
- Support the preparation and negotiation of dilapidations schedules
- Assist in supervising works on-site to ensure quality and compliance
- Provide support in advising clients on design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment
About You
- Minimum 2:2 degree in a RICS-accredited Building Surveying (or related) discipline
- Strong ambition to achieve Chartered status (MRICS) through the APC pathway
- Genuine interest in the built environment and property sector
- Strong communication skills with a professional and confident approach
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn from experienced professionals
- Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
