Digital Engineering Consultant (MEP)
Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days office/site)
Salary: £55,000 – £58,000 + benefits
I’m working with a built environment consultancy who are seeking a Digital Engineering Consultant (MEP) to drive the adoption and impact of digital technology and BIM across MEP design.
Working within their Digital Engineering Group (DEG) and alongside the MEP Lead, you will help embed best practice, improve coordination and delivery, and contribute to the development of digital standards and strategy across multidisciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of DEG strategic objectives
- Coordinate communications and meetings with a national network of MEP BIM Champions
- Collaborate closely with the DEG MEP Lead to deliver strategic outcomes
- Lead and coordinate MEP digital integration activities across projects
- Research emerging MEP digital trends and share insights with the discipline
- Define integration approaches between Revit MEP and other design tools (e.g. IES, NBS, M&E plugins)
- Develop and maintain MEP components, libraries, and digital infrastructure
- Deliver strategic digital initiatives (e.g. BWIC processes in Revit)
- Provide training on MEP software such as Revit and IES
- Support bid submissions and capability assessments requiring BIM expertise
- Respond to escalated technical support queries
- Contribute to annual BIM certification processes
Qualifications
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of BIM principles, workflows, and ISO 19650 standards
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and related tools
Essential
- Extensive experience in Building Services engineering and MEP design/coordination
- Proven leadership in Digital Engineering or BIM Management roles
- Experience developing Revit MEP content and documentation standards
- Delivery of training to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Strategic development of Digital Engineering initiatives
- Experience with innovation projects (e.g. Room Data Sheets, BWIC workflows)
- Membership of professional bodies (e.g. CIBSE, Nima, IET)
- Participation in industry forums (e.g. buildingSMART, CIBSE Society of Digital Engineering)

This is a hybrid role based in Bristol, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office or on-site. Occasional UK travel may be required for collaboration, training, and workshops.
