SEEKING A CONSULTANT IN PUBLIC HEALTH

WORKING FOR US

This is a senior post with a high level of responsibility, working alongside the Director of Public Health and a team of Consultants to lead the city’s public health agenda. You’ll play a vital role in driving collective wellbeing outcomes for residents and shaping priorities that align with our Corporate Strategy and Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is an ambitious, forward-looking authority that values collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practice. You’ll join a team committed to reducing health inequalities, strengthening community partnerships, and creating lasting impact across the city.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Consultant in Public Health, you will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver targeted programmes and interventions that improve population health and reduce inequalities. You’ll provide expert public health support and whole-system leadership across council directorates, the NHS, and partner organisations, driving data-led strategies, influencing policy, and managing complex challenges with confidence.

The role requires an adaptable, strategic thinker with a deep commitment to prevention, partnership working, and continuous improvement in health outcomes for the people of Stoke-on-Trent.
