Interim Technical Accountant – £500/£600 DOE – Remote
Panoramic Associates is working with a council based in the North-East to recruit an Interim Technical Accountant who will play a key role in preparing 2023-24 year-end accounts together.
This role offers remote working with limited travel, on a full-time basis for 3-Months initially with the view to extend and the client would welcome someone who can start ASAP.
Main responsibilities (will include but not limited to)
- Year-end and Month-end closing.
- Supporting the lead financial accountant on the production of the year-end accounts.
- Assist with the processes and adjustments on the month-end management accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Operating regular bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for resolution.
- Studying the financial performance indicators and data to supply insights for management, steering towards better decision-making.
Essential Experience:
- Part or Full Qualified accountant with Local authority/Public sector experience
- Implemented changes to accountant standards.
- Experience creating financial models and then analysing financial data (Excel or other financial reporting products)
- Ability to work to the rigorous deadlines of a year-end account production.
- An outstanding communicator with the skills to liaise with a range of both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
