Panoramic Associates are supporting our Local Authority client with the recruitment of an Interim Senior Commissioning Officer – Substance Misuse for an initial 4 months and on a 4-5 day p/w basis. Ideally you can come onsite one day per week.
This role is to help provide extra capacity to the team around drug and alcohol due to the additional grant from the government and to pick up some work around alcohol licensing.
Role:
- The postholder will provide public health expertise on substance misuse and alcohol within the Council, partner organisations and the wider health and social care system
- The postholder will be expected to lead on the commissioning, development and implementation of an agreed range of public health programmes relating to substance misuse and alcohol and plan, monitor, evaluate and respond to need ensuring prevention and early intervention is embedded across the local system
- To provide specialist public health leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating substance misuse and alcohol public health programmes to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities across the life course
- To lead on development of multi-agency and integrated population, community, family and individual level primary, secondary and tertiary substance misuse and alcohol prevention programmes working across council departments, organisations, partnerships, and communities
Requirements:
- A relevant degree level qualification or substantive experience in an appropriate field, supplemented by public health, health improvement or public health commissioning improvement knowledge, acquired through training, courses and or experience and continuing professional development
- Previous public health practitioner/commissioning role within the public health team of a Local Authority (desirable)
- Worked on Drug and Alcohol as a key area before
