The post holder is responsible for planning, commissioning, implementing, performance monitoring and evaluating public health programmes in line with agreed local and national priorities.
The role involves developing and maintaining effective partnerships across the statutory, voluntary, private and independent sectors to plan cohesively for public health.
The post holder is responsible for providing specialised advice and expertise on the development and delivery of public health strategy, policy and practice, with particular emphasis on the promotion of health and well being.
The post holder will be a member of the Public Health Department.
As a member of the Public Health Department the post holder will be expected to support the development of the health inequalities agenda,
The post holder will promote the Health and Safety at Work policies and ensure these are implemented effectively within his/her areas of responsibility.
