Job Role: Operations Director
Location: Croydon (with travel across Croydon, Brent, and Harlow)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Salary: £60,000-£63,000

On offer is a rare opportunity for an experienced Operations Director to join a growing team, overseeing the operational activities of a Supported Accommodation portfolio, which supports approximately 350 vulnerable tenants across Croydon, Brent, and Harlow. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will ensure the effective management of our Intensive Housing Management properties, focusing on tenant well-being, efficient property management, and driving profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operational aspects of a housing management portfolio, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Lead and manage a dedicated team, including Operations Managers, HB/UC Officers, and Office Managers.
- Focus on efficient void turnaround, maintaining high property standards, and ensuring tenant satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Translate strategic business goals into actionable operational plans.
- Define and monitor KPIs to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Regularly report to the board on operational progress and achievements.
- Drive business restructuring to enhance speed, efficiency, and profitability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the business.
- Overhaul customer service practices, implementing minimum standards for all tenant interactions.
- Research and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce operational expenditure.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and housing law to ensure compliance.
- Develop leadership and coaching programmes to enhance team effectiveness.
- Explore new business development opportunities and seek additional income streams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, local authorities, and charity partners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in operational leadership, ideally within housing management or a similar sector.
- Strong track record of managing teams, streamlining operations, and driving profitability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of housing law, compliance, and best practices within the industry.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate goals into actionable plans.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
