Locum Childcare Advocate

6 months initially

Hybrid Working (once weekly in office and court attendance for occasional hearings)

£45-55+ per hour umbrella (dependent on experience)

We at Panoramic Associates are working with a Local Authority in London currently looking for a Locum Childcare Advocate to pick up a full childcare advocate caseload on an initial 6-month contract! The role is fully remote, however, attendance in court for hearings would be required. This position is being offered as full-time (37 hours/week) and would suit someone who has experience with advocacy but is looking to remain mostly remote.

Ability to conduct own advocacy is essential as the role will involve in-person hearings including case management and resolution hearings. The successful candidate will have experience in managing a caseload which includes PLOs, care proceedings, the court of protection, and a range of other childcare matters.

Essential criteria:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister, alternatively, non-qualified Lawyers with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Good practical knowledge of a range of Children's Social Care and Public Law proceedings and matters.
  • Strong advocacy skills are required, as is the ability to communicate complex legal advice concisely and clearly.
  • Ideally have recent experience of working in a local authority setting advising on Childcare matters. Alternatively, if you have experience working in private practice dealing with Public Childcare matters and understand the responsibilities of the Local Authority when dealing with such cases.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

To discuss the role and day to day duties in more detail, please send your CV to or alternatively, please contact Maya Hingorani on 0117 284 0082 or Lauren Watts on 0117 409 4456.
