We are seeking an experienced Interim Headteacher to lead a specialist SEMH/ASD school in the South West. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and passionate individual to oversee the school during a critical phase, ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality education for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and management of the school, maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of a curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH/ASD.
- Drive excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring that educational outcomes and progress for students are continually improved.
- Support and mentor the senior leadership team, ensuring strong and effective leadership across all areas of the school.
- Foster strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders, promoting a culture of collaboration and respect.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and all relevant educational policies and legislation.
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Headteacher in a special school setting, with a proven track record of leadership in SEMH/ASD schools.
- Deep expertise in teaching and learning and curriculum development, particularly within a special educational needs context.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and pastoral care specific to SEMH/ASD students.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire both staff and students.
- Ability to manage change effectively, with a hands-on, solution-focused approach.
