Length: 12 months
Panoramic Associates are supporting our Local Authority client with the recruitment of an Interim Director of Public Health for a 12-month period, ideally on a full time basis. There is flexibility for the right candidate but ideally you can also get started in August and attend site for essential meetings.
Role:
- This post requires specialist public health leadership and an appropriate span of responsibility to deliver health protection, health improvement and advice on health services.
- Ensure that the impact on health is considered in the development and implementation of all policies.
- Prepare, manage and monitor the service’s budget and will ensure effective leadership, motivation and development of staff.
- On a regular basis you will review resources, services and partnership arrangements in order to identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Formulate a clear, targeted long-term strategy that ensures health and social care, education, housing, jobs and economic policies and infrastructure, and communities, community assets and the third sector are shaped in ways which deliver maximum improvements in health and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register / GDC specialist list or UK Public Health Register
- Must meet minimum CPD requirements in accordance with the Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body
- High level communication and negotiation skills and are able to use these to develop strong working relationships both internally and externally and externally.
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to lead others and inspire positive change.
- Previous high-level management experience in a local authority or health service role.
- Acute understanding of the link between economic success and good health and build this into your strategy for tackling and prioritising public health issues.
- A good understanding and experience of working on the governments levelling up programme would be essential
