Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Head of Economic Development to lead and manage the council’s Economic Development service.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Ensure that the Council maximises opportunities to secure external funding through building effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure funding programmes are managed and monitored effectively to ensure outcomes are delivered in line with funding objectives.
- Provide leadership in developing opportunities for economic growth within the local area with a focus on strategy, inward investment, skills, and place-making.
- Be responsible and accountable for the service’s budgets including monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate projects, strategies and policies.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Experience working in a local authority setting.
- A proven track record of working at a senior leadership level is essential (Head of Service or above).
- Extensive knowledge of local, regional and national political and economic context impacting on local government.

This role is an initial 6-month contract with likely extension and offering £550 a day Inside IR35.
You will be required to be in the office 2 days per week, with the reminder remote.
