Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority in Southwest of England to recruit an experienced Ecologist with planning expertise for an interim position as an Ecologist Planning Officer. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic local authority dedicated to sustainable development and community-focused planning. The position involves preparing and completing ecological appraisals, assessments, and surveys, as well as providing critical input into local plans and planning applications.
Location: Southwest of England (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 3-6 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ecological appraisals, assessments, and surveys.
- Offer expert advice on ecological impacts related to development and planning applications.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of local plans.
- Collaborate with development management teams and other relevant agencies.
- Ensure all work complies with local policies and regulations.
- Provide guidance on mitigation measures and ecological impacts.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as an Ecologist with a solid understanding of planning processes.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed ecological reports and assessments.
- Knowledge of local planning procedures and environmental policies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications in ecology or a related field.
