Panoramic Associates are working with a local authority in the North West to recruit an Interim Director of SEN who will closely with the Heads of service within the local authority
This role offers hybrid working on a full-time basis for 3 months initially with the view to extend and the client would welcome someone who can start asap.
Main responsibilities (will include but not limited to)
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the local authority.
- Develop and implement SEND policies and strategies.
- Coordinate with schools, parents, and external agencies.
- Oversee assessment and intervention for SEND students.
- Manage the SEND budget and resources.
- Monitor and evaluate SEND effectiveness and outcomes.
- Provide training and support for staff.
- Ensure compliance with national SEND legislation.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of SEND students.
- Promote inclusive practices and safeguarding.
Essential Experience:
- Proven leadership in managing Heads of Service
- Experience developing and implementing SEND policies.
- Strong collaboration with schools, parents, and agencies.
- Effective budget and resource management.
- Track record of monitoring and improving SEND outcomes.
- Providing training and support on SEND issues.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice integration.
