This is an interesting opening to join a close-knit finance team with great development opportunities for future career progression or for someone looking to take that next step in their Public Sector finance career. They are looking for a fully Qualified Accountant with a Technical eye, who has experience working within a Local Authority.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with 2 days a week on-site requirement. The successful candidate will join a supportive Finance department working closely with the Heads of Finance and directors to deliver strong and efficient corporate and operational financial management for the Council.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for overseeing the council’s budget monitoring, accounting processes, and the accurate maintenance of financial records.
- Effectively manage and lead a team responsible for preparing financial accounts and corporate budget monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with the council’s financial procedure rules and manage the financial aspects of the constitution.
An Ideal candidate will have:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Vast Post-Qualification Public Sector Experience.
- Successfully proven Line Management experience.
