As Category Manager you will join the growing procurement team as they strengthen the procurement functions by spreading workloads. My client are looking to recruit a Category Manager to support the management of a designated category and the sustained delivery of optimum supplier performance. You will be managing Contracts and projects from £200K to £10M which fall within a number of category areas within the Corporate Functions Category.
- Supporting the Procurement Business Partner (Senior Category Managers) in delivering the relevant category strategies, as well as taking ownership of various sub-categories, including tender, and other projects where appropriate.
- Provide expert and professional advice, guidance, challenge and support on internal Procurement Policy/Procedures, the Public Contracts Regulations as well as other relevant legislation. To ensure that all Group employees fully comply with relevant rules and legislation as appropriate.
- Lead on sourcing projects, in line with agreed strategies, taking responsibility for market engagement, option appraisals, the procurement process, evaluations, negotiations and contract execution.
- Carry out detailed supply market research and engagement, to inform the business planning, identification of opportunities, and engaging with key suppliers at all levels to identify innovative development opportunities that will contribute to the Group.
In terms of experience they can be flexible so long as it's corporate/central services' based. They have a variety of projects happening in the corporate workplan at the moment ranging from Communications, IT & HR. It is essential that you must be able to demonstrate experience of running sourcing projects via Public Contracts Regs. 2015.
CIPS qualified is preferable.
Experience of creating category strategies and making recommendations.
IT Skills - Good working knowledge of current category platforms as well as standard MS Office platforms.
Sound Experience of contracting drafting, contract reviewing and contract negotiation.
